Jewish Women's 11 Photos

Monkfish Press will soon publish a book called The Rooster Princess and Other Tales: Jewish Stories Repopulated with Spunky Heroines, Wise Women, Brave Crones and Powerful Prophetesses. It’s a short story anthology by my group, the Jewish Women’s Storytelling Collective. We feature women in this collection of re-imagined traditional Jewish tales, original stories, and personal stories by substituting leading male characters with female protagonists.

Publishers Weekly calls our collection “clever, witty, and sly.” In their review, they mention two of my stories, “Sarika and the Magic Pomegranate Seed” and “Hannah and the Moon.” They say the latter “provides one of the collection’s cleverest alterations.” I am both honored and humbled by their kind words. You can read the review here.

After our book comes out in early September, other members of the Jewish Women’s Storytelling Collective and I will tell stories at venues in Ashland, Portland, and elsewhere. I will share the locations and dates of these soon, but in the meantime, you can pre-order our book at Bookshop.org or from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Indipubs.
